From District 9 Director Marg Tanaszi

Hello District 9 members:

Here is a schedule for this year’s District 9 Spring Forum and AGM on Saturday, April 27 at the Livingston Activity Centre in Grimsby.  The hosts are the Grimsby Garden Club. There are morning snacks, an annual business meeting, two speakers, a full flower show and prize draws.

This year’s theme is “Getting to Biodiversity.” We have two outstanding speakers:  Cathy Kavassalis, Master Gardener and member of the Oakville Horticultural Society, will talk directly about the theme in her presentation, “Pollinator Gardens from the Ground Up”, and Sue Clarke, Instructor/Curator at the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture, will explore the ”The Legacy Prairie Garden at Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens”.

There is a wonderful lunch catered by Grimsby’s Fit To Eat.  We will send out the finalized menu to you soon. Please let Susan Lusted know of any dietary restrictions attendees may have, and we will accommodate them.

This year you have the options of using Eventbrite ( https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ontario-horticultural-association-district-9-spring-agm-2019-tickets-56491404311) or cash at the door for the entry fee of $20. Those choosing the online option will be eligible for a special prize draw. For those choosing the cash option, please let your presidents know, as we will be asking them, closer to the date, for an estimate of those planning to attend. Vicky Culbert, director of OHA District 8, will return as our OHA guest.

Attached is a full schedule, with directions, and a flyer.  Please forward this information to your membership; everyone is welcome.  We look forward to a great day, and hope that many of you can join us.

Best regards,

Margaret Tanaszi, Director

OHA District 9
