Welcome to the Harriston & District Horticultural Society's Home page. Our society has been operating since 1952. We have regular meetings and hold two major flower shows one in May and the other in August. The flower to the left is our floral emblem -Iris Versicolour, the Blue Flag Iris. We meet regularly in the Harriston Seniors' Centre (former Train Station on Arthur Street) on the 3rd Wednesday  of the month unless advertised differently. Meetings start at 7:30  pm. There are  no meetings in July, December or January. Each meeting has a speaker, refreshments and door prizes.



Mystery Garden Tour

On a lovely warm evening in June approximately forty people followed President Diane Ireland-Kelly around town as she led them on a mystery garden tour. The first two gardens were Avalon Gardens, owned by John and Anne Hieter and Doug and Dorelene Anderson's garden. Then the group made its way to the pavilion down at the arena where everyone enjoyed a delicious cold plate supper. After supper she led us to the back yard of Don and Joanne Matthews and beside them the raised garden of Dr. Bill Van Sickle.
