2012 Queens' Jubilee Bur Oak planting
In 2012, the OHA celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by planting commemorative bur oak trees (or red maples) on public property in each district. To see photos of other plantings across Ontario (from OHA's Trillium newsletter) please click here.
The photo collage (left) features District 15 Director Carole Spraggett and a young member from the Humber Child Development Centre in Etobicoke putting the finishing touches on the District 15 OHA planting of a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee commemorative bur oak.
This tree will be part of the transformation of the property into a nature focused playground. This will be the first phase in the creation of a new teaching and learning environment for Humber's Early Childhood Education students as well as for students and faculty in other programs.(2014-03-01)
