Event:Garden Dreams and Good Design
Start Date:February 6, 2019
End Date:February 6, 2019
Time:07:30pm to 08:00pm
Description:Heinke Thiessen will explore the importance of good garden design and plant selection during her presentation. Good design and careful plant selection helps individuals attain their garden dreams whether one is expanding, downsizing or looking for less maintenance. Heinke’s interest in gardening started at a very early age on her parent’s dairy farm in the Eastern Townships in Quebec. She owned and operated “Perennial Pleasures Landscape Design” for 20 years where she offered design recommendations, installation and maintenance services. She has also taught in the Horticultural Program at Sheridan College. Heinke has been an active member of Credit Valley Horticultural Society since 1987. She is a Horticultural Judge accredited by the Royal Botanical Gardens, a Floral Design Judge accredited by the Garden Clubs of Ontario and a past chair of the Garden Clubs of Ontario Judges’ Council. Now retired, Heinke is pursuing her interest in all things horticultural, as well as floral design, and enthusiastically shares her experience and knowledge.
