About Us

Members of the Whitestone and Area Horticultural Society have established and are maintaining flower beds, with perennials and annuals, in and around the Municipality of Whitestone: Municipal Office/Fire Hall, the Nursing Station, the Municipal Library, the Dunchurch Community Centre, and around historical plaque [in partnership with the Historical Society who provided the backdrop artefacts], at the Grange [the old Fire Hall], and around the historical plaque near the Maple Island Community Centre.

We also place and maintain planters in prominent locations in the village of Dunchurch and at the three local cemeteries (Fairholme, Maple Island and Whitestone Cemeteries).

We planted flower beds in neighbouring McKellar at the Pavillion on the Community Hall grounds and at the new park.  These are being maintained by the residents of the village.

Other projects are in the planning stages.

We will be pleased to reply to questions on gardens, horticulture or other topics of interest.
