Tillsonburg Horticultural Society

This is a new beginning for me in 2011, as your new president. I have an enormous role to fill with the departure of Christine Nagy who was a magnificent president and will continue to arrange those great tours we will be having again this year. Wonderful places to see and trips that, for up to 3 days, will go to gardens and nurseries in order to fulfill all our needs as gardeners. Be sure to book one of them and see what you have been missing, if you are new to us or just to tours in general. Again we will have very enjoyable speakers - names that you will recognize and some you won’t. But all will impart their knowledge to us in a most beneficial way. We have garden tours for the summer season meetings, something that has been missing these last couple of years. We will continue with our flower competition in the spring and our photo contest in the fall. We have discovered a lot of talent in our group and hope you will enter both venues. Also new is our burgeoning partnership with Annandale House. I know that the Tillsonburg Horticultural Society started out in those gardens but it has been a long time since we did anything there and we will be starting to support them with our knowledge, our money and our physical labours. They in turn will promote our Society as a place to belong and to attend both our meetings and our auction. Join us at the “Hort” and meet new friends who have similar interests. Work in some of our gardens that we maintain around Tillsonburg, and learn from each other as well as the speakers.
