 Our New Society Banner

After holding a contest that ran for nearly 2 months, nobody came up with a wiining entry, because we only recieved one entry. So the committe (made up of Marie Hynna, Shirley Robson, Diane Berube and Phyllis Garton) decided to incorporate some ideas from each and designed a new banner. The background is gold coloured. The Sleeping Giant lies across the top of the banner, in front of a shining burning orange sun with black rays radiating outward from it. Waves of blue water lie under the giant. Our Society flower, the purple pansy is in the lower half, surrounded by our title, 'Thunder Bay Horticultural Society', as it is on our logo. The established date 1923 will be set in the bottom right corner. The entire banner is bordered in purple satin. A brass rod will display the hanging banner. It will be on display at our meetings as well as other society functions.(2010-04-09) |
