Riverdale Horticultural Society

"Beautifying Riverdale"  Since 1916

 

RHS meets at 7:00 p.m., the second Wednesday of every month except July and August.

 

At the beginning of each meeting we socialize over delicious treats and tea made by volunteers. Then a short business session is followed by a guest speaker who gives a presentation on his/her field of expertise, often with a colourful presentation. 

 Every month we have a friendly competition where members are encouraged to bring a potted plant and/or a floral arrangement to be judged. Points are awarded to all entrants monthly and prizes (usually spring flowering bulbs) are given out yearly based on an accumulated score. This year, points are also being awarded for bringing a visitor to our meetings.

The highlights of the year are our flower show which is an opportunity to show off our gardening and design skills and a plant sale/bazaar, which is our only fund-raising event.
