Welcome to the Rideau Lakes Horticultural Society (RLHS) web site.
We are affiliated with the Ontario Horticulture Association
RLHS has approximately 110 members, with 5 life members. We have both master and novice gardeners and are building a youth programme. Membership costs are $15 per year for adults.
The quarterly newsletter, The Lilypad, is produced in March, June, September and December.
Monthly meetings are held from April to December on the first Wednesday of the month in Portland Community Hall at 7:15 p.m.
Bus tours are sponsored throughout the year, municipal gardens are planted and maintained and members work with both elementary and high school students. Speakers at the monthly meetings cover many topics and are always a favourite with members. Mini-shows are also part of the programme and are entered with great enthusiasm.
