Home > About Us About UsThe Penetanguishene Horticultural Society is a group of local residents who meet eight times a year to educate themselves and the community about all things related to horticulture and the environment. We also volunteer our time within the community to add some more green into our town. We hope to nuture a sense of community through all things green in the 21st century. Our mission statement is to have a green stewardship of our community. We love the word GREEN! We are a group of gardeners ranging from beginners to experts, and everything in between. Our guest speakers are usually experts in a variety of areas and some of our members are Simcoe County Master Gardeners, which means you can find the answers to some of your questions from these people personally. We all share a love of anything that grows, whether it is cultivated by us or found occuring naturally in our environment. We have worked with the town to design and plant the flower gardens at the Penetang Arena as well as began to convert the Town Dock flower beds from annuals to drought-tolerant perennials. We hope to continue with the Town Docks this year and continue our project to revitalize the Ecology Gardens on Fox Street. We also host four small horticulture and design shows, and a photography show every year for our members to enter. This is a chance to share and show the efforts of your garden with fellow members and the general public at the Brian Orser Hall.
