Paris Horticultural Society
The Paris Horticultural Society was originally founded in 1863 and is one of the oldest societies in the province. 
After several years of being inactive the society was reorganized in 1986, and has grown into a thriving organization.
The society includes members of all ages who gather to share and increase their knowledge and pleasures of gardening.

Objectives:
The object of the Society is to encourage interest in Horticulture by:

1. Holding meetings and classes for instruction and discussion on subjects connected with the theory and practice of horticulture and floral design.

2. Encouraging the improvements of private and public planting grounds by the planting of trees, shrubs and flowers, and by otherwise promoting outdoor and indoor horticultural activities.

3. Holding exhibitions and competitions within a recognized program and award achievement awards designed to encourage the superior production of vegetables, fruits, plants, flowers, trees and shrubs throughout the County of Brant.

4. Distributing seeds, plants, bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees in ways that will create an interest in horticulture.

5. Promoting the circulation of books, periodicals and other publications pertaining to horticulture.

6. Providing social activity to encourage membership.

Membership:
Annual membership fees are $15.00 per person or $20.00 per family. Dues are payable in January for the current calendar year.
To join, come to one of our monthly meetings, or contact us by mail or email.

Activities:
- Hold monthly meeting throughout the year, except for July and August.
- Provide horticultural information to our membership, outside groups and individuals.
- Annual garden tour and plant sale.
- Annual Garden Show.
- Planting and assisting in the maintenance of various public gardens throughout the town of Paris.
- Arbour Day tree plantings.
- Fundraisers through the sale of plants, bulbs, etc.
- Tours and bus trips to special gardens and events.
- Society display entry at Paris Fall Fair.
- Annual Chrstmas dinner.
- Financial contributions towards awarding prizes for the horticultural excellence at the Paris Agricultural Society Fair and Keg Lane School Fair.
