In 2017, OMHS is celebrating 50 years of “growing together”

     -   sharing gardens, knowledge, friendships, pride and fun !

Annual Plant Sale - The plant sale has broken records again. Marjorie Bell and Dianne Mawdsley co-chaired the busiest sale in our 50 years. Record attendance , a record number of plants and clearly records were also set running for the plants after the whistle blew. I talked to some husbands who told me they come for the entertainment while their wives shop.

None of this would have taken place without the outstanding volunteers that come out even in the rain to work. Thanks to the Oro Agricultural Board for generously allowing us to have the event at the fairgrounds. They have been a pleasure to work with in the new setting.

July 9th - The Garden Tour is our next big fund raiser and the gardens chosen in Horseshoe Valley and High- lands of Horseshoe area will not disappoint. Challenges many gardeners face, shade, hills and large areas will be seen; as well , some have water features.

We are a very friendly gardening group that welcomes visitors to our open meetings.  There is no charge if you wish to check us out.  Our speakers are informative and our refreshments home made.  Oro-Medonte is located just north of Barrie and before Orillia. We meet at the Guthrie arena on HWY 11.
