About Us

Welcome to the Omemee and District Horticultural Society. Our Society was formed in 1939, which makes us 71 years young this year. Our emblem is the white water lily. We have approximately 84 adult members and a youth group of about 20 eager gardeners. Our members come from as far away as Peterborough, Lindsay, and Manvers and as close as our local village. Our 2010 executive has an exciting year planned. Our programs include knowledgeable guest speakers, slide shows, demonstrations, workshops, plant sales, day trips, garden tours and plant and seed exchanges. We are an active, fun loving group who are eager to learn more about plants and to share our love of gardening. We welcome guests at no charge. A year's membership is only $12 ($15 for a family). Come out and join us. We guarantee that you will have a great time and hopefully you will decide to join our society.
