APRIL 17 A HUGE SUCCESS !
Congratulations to all our volunteers who made the April 17, 2004
OHA District 5 Annual General Meeting a success. It was a great
way to celebrate our 80th! We had 204 registered delegates from 16 societiesattend the all day meeting. Volunteers worked 5 hours on the Friday afternoon setting up the Toronto Botanical Garden for the event.
Tables were covered, decorations put up, balloons, pansies, rose napkin holders, to make the Floral Hall quite festive. The 3 upstairs studio rooms were made ready for the flower show where over 300 floral entries made for a wonderful display of spring flowers and plants. The Garden Auditorium was set up for the vendors that ranged from
displays of live butterflies to ceramics, floral watches, herbal teas
and travel opportunities. A big thank you to the members of the two hosting societies, North York Hort. And Greater Toronto Rose for all their work and planning. Great food, good speakers and a fabulous fundraising event made it an outstanding day. We raised almost $1800 from the 23 baskets to cover costs above the registration fee of $20.
