History: St. John's Rehab Hospital Flower Bed by NYGC
PLANTING AT ST JOHN’S REHAB HOSPITAL
On June 1st six of our members planted the annual flower bed at St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital on Cummer Avenue. It was their second attempt to plant as extreme heat and thunderstorms prevented earlier planting. Over 500 marigolds and dusty millers were used to plant the large bed in front of their main entrance. Thanks go to Diane Wilton, Daryl Bessell, Gloria Broks, Lucie Dutfield, Helen Donsani and Ruth Hancock for all their work. A special thanks to Fairlawn Market on Avenue Road for the beautiful flowers they sold us at a reasonable price. Many compliments were received from the patients, their families and the staff of the hospital for the generosity of the North York Horticultural Society (2010-06-06) |
