Nepean Horticultural Society
WELCOME TO THE NEPEAN HORTICUTURAL SOCIETY (NHS)
The Nepean Horticultural Society is in the process of developing a new website! Please check out our efforts at www.nepeangardeners.ca - website completion is targetted for January 2018.
Note: Current calendar events and society information will be posted to the new website. Thanks!
The Nepean Horticultural Society was established in 1957 in the City View area of what was then Nepean Township to encourage interest and improvement in horticulture.
Members now come from all parts of the city but our objectives have remained the same. Nepean Horticultural Society is one of the twenty-one members of District 2 of the Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA).
By our association with the OHA we receive a quarterly newsletter, an awards system and learning opportunities at meetings and conventions. Through the OHA the Society has opportunities to enter flower, photographic and artistic competitions with other societies.
NHS is incorporated under the Ontario Agricultural and Horticultural Organisations Act and operates with Officers and a Board of Directors.
The potentilla is our floral emblem. Our motto is: “Where Gardeners Grow”
Our mailing address is:

The objectives of the Nepean Horticultural Society are to foster and encourage interest and improvement in horticulture.
Our members range from the beginner to the more experienced gardener. Our interests include soil enrichment and maintenance, pest control, garden design, lawn care, annual, perennial and vegetable growing. Other interests are container gardening and houseplants. Some of us are photographers. Others are interested in exhibiting plant specimens, and in floral design and flower arranging. And we all enjoy refreshments and mingling following the meetings.
Even if you don’t have a garden but enjoy plants and nature, you will find something of interest at our meetings. We invite you to join us.
Meetings with a speaker $ 4.00
Otherwise free admission
