The Markdale and District Horticultural Society belongs to district #8, and is at the farthest east and north corner of the district. Members come from Meaford in the north, Dundalk in the south, Feversham from the east.
Learn from the Past – Cultivate for the Future
Our Society received its charter January 12,1912. Our 100th Anniversary Celebration Committee has been busy planning events for next year. Save the Date – We will be hosting our Anniversary Dinner April 28, 2012. Please see the newsletter for more information about the event.
Reminder, our Annual Green Thumb Sale will be held Saturday May 12, 2012. This is an important event for our Society as it provides funds for our Beautification Committee’s work and other garden projects in the District. Please support us by donating plants and shopping at the sale. See the Newsletter for details.
Our next meeting will be held April 25, 2012 at 7:30pm. Sue Connelly, member and Master Gardener, will be speaking. Topic: "Fall Bulbs for 2012". She will discuss planting fall bulbs and introduce 57 varieties of Fall Bulbs available at wholesale prices to MDHS members. A deal not to be missed - this sale is only held every 2 years.
