Our meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month (except for our July BBQ, August and  December) at the Opeongo Seniors' Centre in Barry's Bay


Our next executive meeting will be held at 7 p.m., April 3, 2008 at the Inn Towne restaurant in Combermere.

January 17

Annual General Meeting

and

         'Flora and Fauna - Far and Near'

Our Past president, George Evans, will be giving us a slide presentation of gardens he and Helen have visited.


 

February 21

'Ikebana - Japanese Flower Arranging'

Our member, Ritsuko Honda, will be demonstrating and illustrating this approach with a PowerPoint presentation.  Ritsuko has been a member of the Ohara School of Japan www.ohararyu.or.jp/english/index_e.html for 16 years.  She will talk about the basic types of arrangements, tips and rules for making arrangements and the differences from Western arrangements.

CLASS 1 - Flowering African Violet in bloom

CLASS 2 - Houseplant - grown for foliage - maximum 8" pot

CLASS 3 - Valentine's Arrangement  (accessories allowed)

CLASS 4 - Photo of any RED flower (competition rules apply)

CLASS 5 - "The Winter Blahs Beater" - any bright coloured dry flower arrangement
