HOUSE PLANTS

House plants are not only a wonderful addition in our home they can also be beneficial in our lives. They purify and renew stale indoor air by filtering out toxins, pollutants and the carbon dioxide we exhale – replacing them with oxygen! Some house plants are more efficient in filtering out toxins than others. Here are a few beneficial house plants you can try:

Spider plants – Chlorophytum comosum

Mums – Chrysanthemum sp.

Ficus – Ficus

Gerbera Daisy – Gerbera sp.

Aloe Vera- Aloe barbabensis

Common English Ivy – Hedera sp.

SPIDER PLANTS

Care – best in bright but indirect light. Water freely when growing but sparingly otherwise.

Note – spider plants are efficient at removing formaldehyde from indoor air

ALOE VERA

Aloes are succulents and the thick fleshy leaves act as water reserves. Aloe prefers well drained soil so their roots are not always wet. Let the soil dry slightly between watering. Larger Aloes prefer full sun but smaller types like shade during the heat of the day.

Note – Aloe is also efficient at the removal of formaldehyde. Aloe is renowned as a medicinal plant known for its healing properties nickname burn plant.
