Home > About Us About UsOur society will be celebrating our 60th anniversary of incorporation and our 90th anniversay of our founding in 2010. We are proudly affiliated with the Ontario Horticultural Association. Over the years we have had many town beautification projects, currently the Leamington Horticultural Society endeavors are: Town Planters Planting a colourful variety of annuals around town and at the Art Centre. 2010 we coordinated with the town to increase our wow factor. Carrie Middlemist designed the planters and the Sun Parlor beds. Town Benches Furnished benches that were installed at various locations around town. Tomato Information Booth Plant and maintain the gardens surrounding the famous tomato information booth. Established as a Centennial Project in 1967 we continue to update it with trees and shrubs Sun Parlor Home Plant annuals each spring. This year the permanent beds have been redesigned with annuals to coordinat with the town. Memorial Trees Our way of commemorating our deceased members, planting a tree with their name inscribed on the plaque. Chess/Checker Tables 2009 project to provide game table for the marina park with our partners Town of
60/90 Anniversary Garden Past President Eileen Wonnick desired a special project to commenrate our anniversay. A beautiful garden at the Frazer Rd/Talbot Rd and Oak Street Triangle greets visitors with Leamington logo in flowers. The Leamington Horticultural Society provides a bursary to a deserving high school student to further his/her education in horticulture. We are proud to announce Luke Andary as the recipient of ths years bursary. |
