Home > About Us About Us
The Huntsville Horticultural Society was founded in 1925 and is a non-profit organization made up entirely of volunteers. Our goal is to promote Horticulture in the Town of Huntsville. For many years we have been responsible for puchasing and planting the flowers for 12 raised beds, 14 planters and 3 gardens in the Downtown of Huntsville. In the fall we remove all of the annuals that we planted in preparation for winter. The Society is also entirely responsible for maintaining the garden at the Huntsville Public Library. In recent years, we have helped the Parks Department plant the gardens at the Brunel Locks and the Summit Flag Garden. In July we host a Garden Tour that features local gardens. We hold a Spring Flower Show in May and our "Festival of Flowers" in July. To raise funds to support our local work we hold a plant sale in May. |
