About Us

Welcome to Flamborough Horticultural Society

The mission of the Flamborough Horticultural Society is to encourage interest and involvement in horticulture through civic improvement, preservation, exhibitions, the distribution of plant materials and regular instruction pertaining to the theory and practice of horticulture.

We are a group of garden loving individuals who meet once a month on the 3rd Wednesday every month except July, August and December.

We usually meet at St. Thomas the Apostle ChurchParish Hall,

715 Centre Road, Waterdown.

Parking is available at the back of the church.  The Parish Hall is to the left of the back entrance of the church.  Wheelchair accessible.

Our society was founded in May 1939 and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2014.  We have dedicated life members to prove it. Membership is $15.00 a year. We have speakers every month, bus trips, garden tours through the summer and flower show contests for our members. All ages over 15 are welcomed with open arms.

In 1971 the Flamborough Horticultural Society chose as their emblem the Geranium (Pelargonium) and a trophy donated by Gladys and Ernie Cole is awarded each year for the highest total points awarded in the Geranium Class.
