District 8 Annual Meeting by Don Matthews
The weather outside might have been dull and damp but that wasn't the case at the annual meeting of OHA District 8 in the Teeswater-Culross Community Center on April 1, 2006. More than 160 delegates gathered to conduct the business of the district. The hall was tastefully decorated and there were displays of winning photographs and posters.
Norman White, President of the Teeswater-Culross Society welcomed everyone and we joined in the singing of O Canada. Mayor Ralph Kreutzweiser brought greetings from the municipality.
Valerie Neal conducted the business portion of the meeting.
Paul Zammit of Plant World delighted the delegates with his slide presentation of various methods of adding colour to your garden and planters. He strongly urged people to think about the four seasons of Canada when growing plants and landscaping.
Liisa Wolfgram, 1st Vice President, of the Ontario Horticultural Association brought greetings and commented that she was looking forward to working with District 8 in preparation for the convention in Owen Sound in 2007. She also conducted the election of officers for the coming year. In the picture from left to right: Carl Preuss, Betty Bone, Wayne Pfeffer, Marie Carson, Valerie Neal and John McDonald.
