Ottawa Is Blooming, District 2 Show

OTTAWA IS BLOOMING 2010
Dear members of OHA District 2 Societies,
Best wishes for the New year and I hope you will enjoy the opportunity to show and share what you grow.
Many of you put on a wonderful display at the 2008 “Ottawa is Blooming” show and once again we have been donated a large area to put on a “Standard Horticulture and Decorative Show” on April 23 – 25, 2010 ( see schedule for details)
Lee Valley Tools, as our sponsor, is offering great prizes and District 2 will donate prizes to the Youth competitors.
So start your planning, growing, re potting, now, encourage your Adult and Youth members to take part.
In planning your decorative exhibits remember this is a three/four day show so material must be chosen that will survive that time frame, good hardening of your cut material is essential.
Look for the volunteer list that will be published soon and sign up.
Even if you do not enter the show it is a great place to learn from those that do, and have the opportunity to visit the rest of the show.
An added bonus will be a used book sale of garden related material to support our District.
Both Madeline Archer and myself hope you enjoy the challenge and enter your specimens and use your decorative skills for the enjoyment of all the visitors.
David Archer will be contacting the Youth Group Leaders in our District.
I am available to take your registration for the decorative classes and to answer any questions you may have regarding the Schedule.
