2017 District 15 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING April 22, 2017
It is that very important time of year again! We welcome you and your society members to join us for your 2017 District 15 Annual General Meeting. To download the complete registration package, click here
This year it will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, at the Thornhill United Church, hosted by the Thornhill Garden & Horticultural Society. Google map
Your District AGM is the opportunity to mingle and chat with fellow gardeners and horticultural society members from across the District.
The theme for this year’s event is “Thornhill – Preserving our Heritage and Planting for our Future.”
Our presenter will be Marion Jarvie and her topic will be “A Garden in Thornhill”.
Marion is a Past President of the Thornhill Hort and is a renowned speaker and educator at home and abroad. You will readily see, hear, and feel Marion’s passion as she speaks about her garden (what we call her mini “TBG” – Thornhill Botanical Garden) which she has continually and devotedly developed for over 50 years.
The complete Flower Show Schedule is included in this package together with all requirements for entries, including Convenor and Pre-Registration information. Please encourage your members to enter the show. We look forward to seeing amazing designs and horticultural entries again this year. It is encouraging to your members if you have copies of the Flower Show Schedule and entry forms available at your meetings. This year we have returned to a People’s Choice Photography category. A reminder to everyone to bring their photos would be great. FLOWER SHOW REGISTRATION FORM, click here.
Please remember to bring your banner with its stand to display during the meeting. A table will be available to place all and any flyers for upcoming events that you may have to share with fellow society members. This material should be placed on this table only.
All societies are asked to bring a door prize with a value of $25.00 to $30.00. Every registered member will receive a draw ticket in their package for these gifts. We encourage you to participate in this tradition. Please place a card on the gift to indicate the Society it is from. Thank you in advance, in case it gets missed on the day.
The meeting starts at 9:45 am sharp and will adjourn as close to 3:00 pm as possible. Parking is free. A map showing the location and directions is included in this package. Google map
The registration for the day will be $30.00 per person. This fee will include a Continental Breakfast, Morning Coffee break and Lunch with dessert. You will notice that we have managed to maintain the cost of registration. This is thanks to the incredible response to our yearly Silent Auction and Raffle which makes it possible to expense any overrun from the District reserve.
Please send one registration form per society (to download a fillable PDF form, click here)with the total number of members attending, along with one cheque covering ALL delegates of your Society attending. We are not able to accept individual registrations via email or by phone. All registrations must include payment. Make cheques payable to O.H.A District 15. Deadline to register is April 3, 2017.
