All About Awards

Awards are one great way that we can recognize those who work continuously, tirelessly – with dedication to their society, their community. Refer to these simplified categories of awards and continue to consult the OHA Awards Booklet for more information.

A.         Awards given by OHA.

These are major awards and they are available to members or an organization and given by the OHA. These awards are listed in Section 4 of the OHA Awards Booklet.  They include: §          Silver Medal Award §          Trillium Award §          Silver Fir Award §          Award of Merit For a list of District 15 recipients of these awards, click here.  We have included herein the Youth Leader Award recipient(s)*.  *        Information about awards available to societies with Youth Garden Clubs is in Section 2 of the OHA Awards Booklet

B.         Awards given by the District.

This category includes 2 awards, which are available to members or organizations within their respective Districts.  Consult OHA Awards Booklet, section 3 for more information. §          The District Service Award §          District Appreciation Award For a list of District 15 recipients of District Service Award, click here. Click here for a link to the APPLICATION FORM (remember to SAVE AS - once you've filled in the form) for the District Service Award.  This form is to be printed (not filled in on-line) and submitted with a letter giving full details of the nominee’s qualifications.

C.         Awards given by the Society.

Section 1 of the OHA Awards Booklet covers the awards available for members and presented by the Society.  These awards include: §          Horticultural Service Certificate §          Life Membership §          Society President’s Award The Horticultural Service Certificate may be awarded once annually by a Society.  When a society has 200 or more members, 2 Service Certificates may be awarded.  Two version of the application form are available here: §          PRINT version (PDF 100 Kb) – click here for an application form that may be printed and submitted to the Assistant or District Director. §          ELECTRONIC version (WORD 670 Kb) – click here for an application form that may be filled in using Microsoft Word (remember to SAVE AS - once you've filled in the form) and emailed to the Assistant or District Director.
