WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN CREDIT VALLEY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY?
You can enjoy the benefits of membership in our Society even if you don’t have your own garden or any knowledge of gardening. Membership provides opportunities to learn, socialize with fellow enthusiasts and share ideas and experiences as well as participate in a variety of activities. We have something to offer novice and experienced gardeners alike.
Meetings: Enjoy speakers on a wide variety of gardening and environmental topics and participate in various activities. Meetings start at 8 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, September to June, in the Arbour Green Room, South Common Community Centre, 2233 South Millway. Pre-meeting activities commence at 7:30 p.m. and may include demos, competitions and Mississauga Master Gardener Advice Clinics.
Newsletter: Receive 10 informative and interesting monthly newsletters by email or printed copy.
Meeting Reminder: Receive a friendly email or telephone reminder before each meeting.
Welcome Centre: Meet fellow members who are happy to answer questions about all our activities and events. New members receive a small welcome gift bag.
Refreshments: Enjoy refreshments at each meeting for a $1 contribution. At your first meeting, refreshments are on us. Help reduce waste – please Lug-A-Mug.
Flower Shows: Participate in our flower shows held at various meetings throughout the year. Exhibitors receive points towards cash show awards.
Workshops: Enjoy informative and inexpensive workshops on flower arranging and garden-related topics.
Photo Contest: Show off your artistic skills in the annual photo contest. Participants receive points towards cash show awards.
Premiums: Once a year, all attending, paid-up members receive a bonus gift of bulbs or plants.
Bus Trip: Enjoy a garden-themed day trip by bus. Watch your newsletter for details and cost.
Discounts: Receive discounts at various local businesses.
Community Projects: Participate in community beautification projects.
