The auction is one week later than usual to give your plants more time to grow before you dig up the extras and bring them to this fundraiser. Of course you are going to want to join in the bidding so that you will have new plants for your garden. Guests are welcome so bring a friend and let them join in on the bidding fun.

We are dedicated to the promotion of horticulture in our community.

We are members of COG (Canadian Organic Growers) and we encourage all of our members to use friendly environmental practices.
Our Nickname
In 1995 the society members voted to call themselves, unofficially, “Friends of the Garden”. The nickname is designed to be less intimidating than the formal name and to encourage anyone who enjoys gardening to join the society.

Frank has a slide presentation and will be bringing some lilac bushes from his nursery.

Weeds and Weenies
Speaker: Courtney Amell
Come early to the Navy Club for a hot dog BBQ, and then help weed the beds before listening to our guest speaker. Courtney Amell of Garden Etiquette will show us how to trim bushes and give us garden maintenance tips.

6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Annual Potluck BBQ
A summer get together to indulge in good food and play some games. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chair and a dish to share. The “Friends of the Garden” will provide the sausages, juice, coffee, tea, and condiments.

Where do you start when your flower beds are past their "best before" date? How do you deal with overgrown clumps of flowers? Mary will help you decide.

Help us meet our mandate by helping shoppers in the Canadian Tire garden centre. You can answer questions, hand out info or help with demonstrations.

Planting Day at the Navy Club.

Wear your gardening gear, bring a shovel and trowel and help plant the beds at the club.

Chateau Ramezay and Maison Saint-Gabriel, Montreal
At Chateau Ramezay, return to to the 18th century to recall the beauty and usefullness of plants. At Maison Saint-Gabriel a colonial garden with its' vegetables, scented flowers and medicinal plants has been re-created in the style of the 17th century.
