President’s Greeting
With Spring well underway, there's little time for gardeners to spend indoors. I'll try to keep my greeting just long enough for you to read it while taking a well deserved break from your chores.
Your gardening efforts to-date have not gone without recognition. The monthly flower shows have displayed an assortment of beautiful blooms and they all look spectacular to me. Congratulations to everyone who participated and please keep those entries coming. They're a great way to learn about floral competition especially for our Annual Flower Show in September.
Another area of recognition goes to our long time Chinguacousy Garden Club members from the Ontario Volunteer Service Awards Division. All our recipients have shown sound leadership and selfless dedication in their community through their many activities in our club.
I could have filled this page with accolades of worthy club members but we are allowed only six nominees annually. Next year we'll have six more open positions so please don't hesitate to lend a hand because we're very grateful for your help and you never know what you may be provincially recognized for!
Receiving their ten year pins are Dawna McKiernan and Glenis Lawes. Receiving their fifteen year pins are Ruth Bender and Aleta Baldwin. Receiving their twenty-five year pins are Joan Hutchins and Diane Murphy. [Click here for photo]
Congratulations again on a job well done!
Cheers to all, Asna
