About Us

The Burlington Horticultural Society is an 89-year-old association with 170 members. Our floral emblem is the rose. We have two main objectives - to beautify our city and to educate the public in the benefits and enjoyment of horticulture. We try to meet these objectives through the following activities.

BEAUTIFICATION: public gardens at Central Library, Civic Rose Awards, Adopt-a-beds on city streets, various community plantings.

EDUCATION: monthly speaker series, horticultural therapy at hospital, books for public library, youth program, Wellness Fair, public plant sale, public garden tour, flower shows, Master Gardener program, horticultural bus tours
