About Us

The Burlington Horticultural Society is a 90-year-old association with 135 members. Our floral emblem is the rose. We have two main objectives - to beautify our city and to educate the public in the benefits and enjoyment of horticulture. We try to meet these objectives through the following activities.

BEAUTIFICATION: maintain public gardens at Central Library and Maple Park, sponsor of the Civic Rose Awards.

EDUCATION: monthly speaker series, horticultural therapy at hospital, books and videos for public library, elementary 'greening' projects,   public plant sale, public garden tour, flower shows, Master Gardener program.
