BRANTFORD GARDEN CLUB

ABOUT THE CLUB
The Brantford Garden Club was founded in 1852 and is one of the oldest horticultural societies in the province. Its objectives are to encourage an interest in horticulture and to promote the protection of the environment.

Annual membership fees are $ 10 (single) ;  $15.00 (family) 

The Club's floral emblem is the daffodil.

CIVIC ACTIVITIES


Brantford is a city renowned for its beautiful floral displays and parks.

Brantford has been national and international winners in the Communities in Bloom competitions.

Brantford Garden Club plays a continuing role as well in civic beautification.

 

          Club activities include:


  *planting of shade trees in schoolyards

    horticultural therapy

    
  *providing  horticultural information to groups and individuals
 

   MEETINGS
   Regular meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month   except July, August & December

  7:30 pm in Lions Park Auditorium, 20 Edge St.,
                                 (off  Gilkison St.).

 

Each meeting includes:
  * guest speaker
  * announcements about coming events
  * a plant sale table, with plant material donated by members
  * reference library
  * Floral competitions ( design & horticultural entries )
  * a Master Gardener to answer questions
  * a raffle
  * refreshments

A  newsletter is mailed to each member in advance of the monthly meeting.
