Home > About Us About UsThe Beach Garden Society Each year, our members enjoy 9 meetings featuring top-notch speakers ready to share horticultural, design and garden management expertise. Members and Master Gardeners host regular sessions to share experiences, tips and solutions. An extensive Library is free to members: hundreds of books, catalogues and magazines on gardening, design and related topics are available. A monthly Newsletter shares ideas, tips and information. An award-winning Yearbook assists members with information on design and research contacts. Five Flower Shows are held each year, culminating in a grand Annual Show in September. Keen competition in both Hort. and Design produces some spectacular and creative displays to be enjoyed by all members. The Beach Garden Society is also an active participant in beautifying the community. Volunteers established the garden at the Beach Library on Queen Street East in 1987 and have been maintaining it ever since. Other projects have included the Greenwood Shelter and a newly planted garden at Queen and Northern Dancer in Woodbine Park. BGS also supports youth programming at The Toronto Botanical Garden. Volunteers are also active at the TBG, Ontario Horticultural Association and many other related groups. |
