Bogs, Wetlands and Butterflies
by Webmaster

The featured guest speaker at BDHS's March 4th, 2009 meeting was biologist Martin Galloway.

Martin Galloway, a teacher of Evolutionary Biology at Seneca College and York University, has hosted the HGTV series "The Secret World of Gardens".

Martin's enthusaism for his topic was apparent in his lively and thought provoking presentation on issues relating to the environment and horticulture, such as pesticide use and bio-controls.  His Chalk Lake Nurseries is an important source of perennials and native plants.

BDHS guests and members thoroughly enjoyed this fascinating topic.
