Ayr Hort Pitch In at Ayr Public School Earth Day
by Paul Arrowsmith

On a beautiful May Friday afternoon, keen members of the Ayr Horticultural Society shared their love of gardening, plants, shrubs, flowers and mulching by pitching in at Ayr Public School's Earth Day Blitz. Many parent and teacher volunteers chipped in with the children to once again, make Ayr Public a prettier place to be. New gardens were dug, old shrubs were removed, flowers were planted and an entire truckload of mulch was dispersed about the property. At the end of the day the volunteers were treated to a barbeque with drinks and chips. Resting after the day are Bob Marshall, Jim Oliver, Fran Oliver, Lynn Creeden with her daughter, Janet, Terry Rickert, Jean Rickert and Cathy Arrowsmith(2010-06-13)
