A Bit About Our Club
Our President for the Year 2007-2008 is Roberta Wilson, Past President Richard Poortinga, 1st Vice - President Arthur J. Oslach, 2nd Vice - President Stephen Douglas, Secretary Richard Poortinga, Treasurer Irene Versteegen Buis, Membership Sonja Oslach, Newsletter Lesley Malcolm, Garden Tour Jose Van Roestel, Directors at Large Louise Neville, Elaine & Ralph Boverhof, Social Comm Tena Poortinga & Kay Haines.
Our society meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month in the gymnasium of Immanuel Christian School on Caverly Road. Meetings begin at 7:30. Each meeting has a meeting featuring some aspect of gardening for the members. There is usually a time to "Share a Success or Problem". The meetings in September and December include a Flower Show competition. The meeting in December includes a potluck dinner which starts at 6:30 pm.
Members who pay the membership fee of $7.00 receive a quarterly newsletter called "Gardening Matters".
Each May the society holds a plant sale in front of the Public Library as an annual fundraiser. This provides an opportunity for the general public to buy clumps of plants at bargain prices.
