Monthly Meetings
Meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of the months March through November. Meetings are not held in December, January & February.
See meetings for dates and details. Meetings begin at 7:30 pm and end about 9 pm.
We meet at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 322, at 111 Hunt Street in Ajax, in the Upper Club Room.
We have speakers on subjects as diverse as water gardening, growing roses, clematis, alternatives to herbicides and pesticides, and floral design.
Members may participate in a flower show judged by master gardeners and guest judges. Ribbons are awarded for all categories. It's a good way to learn more about showing and presenting your flowers and plants and it's fun!
Public Plantings
We strive to make a difference in our community by creating opportunities to learn and by organizing voluntary planting sessions in various public places. We have planted and maintained gardens at the Royal Canadian Legion, at St. Paul's United Church on Kings Crescent, and at St Timothy's Presbyterian Church on Burcher Rd.
Community Events and Services
The Ajax Garden Club participates in community events such as the "Ajax in Bloom" Garden Competition and the "Festival of Trees" in support of the Ajax and Pickering Health Centre. Also the Ajax Garden Club has made several donations to the community including park benches, wreaths, and plants.
