Support OHA and Ontario Horticulture
Discover the rewards of giving
The Ontario Horticultural Association welcomes the support of friends - from backyard gardeners to local landscapers to national retailers. Donating is rewarding. OHA's 35,000 members and over 285 societies share a love of gardening but they do much more to keep Ontario beautiful. As a member of OHA's Garden Circle, you are helping us to:
Your gift sends a clear message that horticulture and environmental stewardship are essential components of our quality of life. Support from you and other donors enables OHA to enhance the everyday life of Ontarians, wherever they may live.
All gifts to support the work of OHA are acknowledged through the Garden Circle, OHA's donor recognition program. Check the OHA website for a list of donor benefits. Follow the links to Supporters and The Garden Circle.

The OHA Annual Convention is an important event for OHA, since it enables our volunteers to upgrade their skills, network with their colleagues from across the province, and share experience and expertise. Convened in a different location each year, the convention is also a special opportunity to recognize and celebrate the work and dedication of the many thousands of volunteers who are committed to environmental and horticultural projects in their communities. All convention costs are supported by delegates' fees and corporate donations.
OHA offers educational workshops for Horticultural Society members to better enable volunteers to keep Ontario beautiful. As well as workshops on horticultural and environmental topics, OHA provides training on volunteer development and management such as starting and growing a horticultural society, volunteer renewal, fundraising, and successful programming.
Horticultural Society Projects
Each year Horticultural Societies throughout the province undertake public plantings and environmental and other projects to keep Ontario beautiful. We invite you to support the activities of your local Society by funding plant materials and equipment. This may be arranged by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or the District Director in your area, through this website. Donors are acknowledged on the District web page as well as the www.gardenontario.org Supporters page.
Planned and Memorial Giving
Remembering the Ontario Horticultural Association through a planned gift in your will is a wonderful way to ensure that OHA's mission lives into the future. You may direct gifts to any OHA program or to the ongoing work of OHA. Family and friends may make memorial donations in the name of a loved one, whose name will be inscribed in OHA's leather-bound memorial book. This book is displayed each year at the Association's Annual Convention. Planned and memorial gifts are acknowledged through the OHA Garden Circle, unless you choose otherwise.
Support OHA in Other Ways
Do you enjoy nothing better than getting a little dirt on your hands? Eating vegetables you've grown yourself? Walking through the garden in the early morning to see what's blooming today? Lending a hand to restore an urban waterway? Establishing a community garden?
If the answer is Yes, consider volunteering with the Ontario Horticultural Association. Through our local Societies, OHA is active across Ontario improving urban and rural landscapes, giving seniors' residences a hand with gardening, planting roadsides with wildflowers, planting trees and shrubs-the list of OHA activities is unlimited.
Volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. Whether you can help to organize a flower show, do the bookkeeping, work on an environmental or community beautiful project, or help in countless other ways, your assistance is most welcome. Check this website for your local District or Society, and find out how you can become an OHA volunteer. Joining our organization gives you the opportunity to meet new people, create friendships, develop new skills and share your love of gardening.
