| | Gardens of Ireland: Des Kennedy, an award-winning journalist, environmental activist, author and unrepentant gardener joins the Ottawa Botanical Garden Society for a visual and literary trip to the lush landscapes and gardens of the Emerald Isle. | | The 2008 “Heart of Northumberland” Garden Tour will feature nine gardens. Lunch will be available for a reasonable cost at a local church and the “For the Birds” boutique featuring functional and handcrafted or painted birdhouses will be open for business at one of the gardens. Raffle prizes. All proceeds go to support Northumberland Big Sisters Big Brothers.
